SILVERDALE INTRODUCES MAN FLEET
Silverdale of Nottingham has, for the first time, added MAN Tourliner to its 45-strong fleet. Five new coaches have been delivered comprising of three 49-seat P21 two-axle chassis and two 61-seat P22 three-axle chassis.
These are the first full size touring coaches for the high-profile Nottingham fleet. They join two MAN / Beulas vehicles acquired earlier this year.
MAN’s EGR ‘Add Nothing’ engine technology was cited as a considerable operational benefit, as Director Shaun Doherty explains.
“In addition to the Tourliner being an extremely attractive coach, acquired with an extremely attractive package,” he said, “we felt the benefit of no-AdBlue operation was an opportunity too good to miss.
“It’s just one less thing to worry about, and productivity from the MAN engine is already proven with our two existing MAN vehicles.”
He added, “I must also mention that feedback from drivers and customers has been very positive. Drivers love the Tourliner, and passengers have said it’s the best touring coach we’ve ever offered.”
Established in 1970, Silverdale today is a private coach hire specialist. The company operates contracts on behalf of its local County Council, and also runs various routes for National Express.
